Liberation

A hollow world and a broken mind
That limps on towards redemption
Staggering forward to an aimless goal
With a heart shattered and molded again

Pacing along a crooked path
Still trembling from the aftermath
The more he treads, more broken he gets
But yet he travels to pay his debts

He stops in his tracks with such haste
And lets go of his crutch
He felt in his mouth, his own blood’s taste
He knew he struggled too much

He closed his eyes and deeply sighed
And spread his arms across
Much like the divine albatross
Into the skies he began to glide

He knew right then and there
This weight was not his to bear
The moment he let go of his temptation
He could now fly towards his liberation
