An Immortal’s Life

An Immortal’s Life

Nothing would seem important
if a God’s life we attain
Would any of this really matter
if we could live forever?

That homework you forgot to do
That meeting tomorrow noon
That dinner date you’d love to have
Or that new avengers film.

Passing by like pebbles on the street
As you rush past them in a car
All your little things in life
would seem petty & futile.

But alas a mortals destiny we have
To go quietly into the dark
But till moment of inevitable doom
These little things of joy we have!
